Darrell Holden is a proud 5th generation rancher, from Vernon Utah. He and his wife, Angie, raise kids and cattle on the West Desert of Utah. He started writing cowboy poetry in 1983 while a freshman in high school. Started preforming after some gentle nudges by his mother, wife and daughter. (Nudges may have been slightly veiled threats of bodily harm) I write about my life; humor, strife, pain, joy and anything ranching. I carry the legacy handed to me from my ancestors. And I find writing to be therapeutic and healing for my heart. Married to my best friend and sweetheart, Angie. We have two amazing kids , Hailey and Dalton, and a great son in law, Hyrum. Happiest a horseback with family and cattle. Honored to continue this cowboy poetry tradition. Fierce defender of ranching families and the stewardship we all have with livestock and nature. Loves to perform for gatherings, private events and especially, cattlemen’s association meetings and schools.
